Event Description

Join us on Friday, May 18 at 3:00pm (Washington DC time) at the#ITENwebinar Gender Equality in the Americas: Persistent Gaps and the Transformative Role of Education by Hilary Anderson.

The legal and political framework around women's rights and gender equality in the Americas is the strongest in the world after Western Europe. Legally, that is, on paper, women enjoy a wide range of rights on equal terms with men. But the persistent gap between women's rights on paper and their rights in practice is one of the biggest obstacles to sustainable development, effective democratic governance and human security.
